Recently, a German newspaper published a picture of a “kippah” skullcap on its front page, urging readers to cut it out and wear it in an act of solidarity with their Jewish countrymen who are facing a rising tide of anti-Semitism. That same week, Gov. Ron DeSantis, while in Jerusalem, signed into law a measure banning anti-Semitism in Florida’s public schools. The law, entitled the Florida Educational Equity Act, House Bill 741, was sent to the governor’s desk last month and will be codified as Florida Statute 1000.05.
