DECA and Academy of Finance Program – DECA (Distributive Education of America) is an international 501(c)(3) not-for-profit association of high school, college students, and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. Rader Law Group has been a Gold-level sponsor for several years. Ken Cutler and Andrew Rader volunteer their time to help the MSD DECA students prepare for the state competition and assist with mock interviews for summer internships.
Internship Host— Each summer, Rader Law Group hosts a student intern to provide them an opportunity to work with and learn from our practicing attorneys, even attending depositions, mediations, court hearings and trials.
Marjory’s Garden Project – A green space and garden honoring the legacy of Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The garden is a student-led, student-operated STEAM project (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics).
Douglas Eagle Regiment Golf Tournament – This golf tournament raises funds for the school’s amazing, award-winning marching band.
Teacher of the Month – Each month a teacher at MSD receives a gift basket provided by Rader Law Group to show our appreciation and recognize a different teacher as Teacher of the Month.
Shark Tank Judges – The MSD DECA “Shark Tank” event introduces students to entrepreneurship and gives them an opportunity to learn about marketing a new product or service. The students present a brief concept presentation to the “Shark Tank” judges and explain how their idea will meet consumers’ needs. After a series of questions, each team is judged and a winner is announced.
MSD Strong- The shooting at Parkland has given both Ken Cutler and Andrew Rader- both of whom live in Parkland- the responsibility and privilege to support the victims of the shooting and the student-led efforts to make schools safer. Ken, as a Parkland Commissioner, is deeply involved in all City efforts in this challenge. Andrew, as an active member of the Parkland community, has also been extremely supportive of safety measures. Both donate considerable time, money and other resources to keep Parkland’s children- and other children around the country- concentrating on their studies while feeling safe and unthreatened.
